Knox College show!

So I finally got back from the Knox College show in Galesburg, Illinois and had time to write about my trip. It started with a long drive with just me and my tour manager Jordan on a 9 hour drive...

We went through a lot of energy drinks/coffee and snacks/fast food but finally got to Illinois thinking we were really late when luckily the time change from Ohio to Illinois gave us an hour, yayyyyy! haha, that made me instantly happier about our trip.  The venue was interesting to say the least; it wasn't bad at all, quite nice actually, just different from what I'm used to so I wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but after a realllllllyyyyyy long setup/soundcheck we got everything worked out for the most part. Interestingly enough, we had to tape plastic sheeting over the ceiling tiles above me because MASS amounts of ceiling material was falling on me and my equipment due to the vibrations of the bass from the speakers!

After soundcheck we headed back to the hotel to change and get ready for showtime when we found out that Project Pat was also in town! Project Pat in Galesburg, IL in a shady small bar was about one of the most random things I had ever heard.... Unfortunately we didn't have time to catch the show, but on the way back to the college we got stuck at a train crossing for about 15 minutes! Galesburg is apparently a huge railroad crossing/hub in the midwest so that would explain that... We ended up being about 5 minutes late to the show because of the train but nevertheless we got set up and got it poppin!

Things were going smooth at first when all of a sudden after the first hour, the speakers BLEW!!! hahahaha, the sound cut out and all of a sudden I freaked out and thought my mixer blew, I was literally sweating bullets and freaking out when my tour manager Jordan suggested just relaxing and taking a look at everything with a calm head and I realized that the speakers just overheated and needed a minute and that my mixer was perfectly fine.  I think I took the biggest sigh of relief ever at that point. After the speakers cooled for a bit we got the sound back up and the party started raging harder than before!

Finally at the end of the show 4 hours later at 2am, I had to pee more than ever in my life I think. I literally had been holding it for about 2 hours already and thought about just peeing in a bottle during the show. Then after loading everything back in the car, a girl named Paloma, who had been dancing real hard ALL NITE, and had a great time asked if we could launch off some of my confetti that I had forgotten to launch off earlier. Of course I was down and I let her do the honors too. We launched confetti off on top of a national monument that Abraham Lincoln gave a speech at. He would be proud I'm sure!

After that we hung out with people from Knox College till 4 in the morning and headed back to pass out at the hotel before heading out back on the road at 10am, 6 hours later... It was a hard wakeup but we got going slowly and ended up stopping about an hour in at a Guitar Center and blowing a part of my show money on new equipment... Figures, and that definitely did not take long, but it's an investment right? I got the Akai LPD8 drum machine and even made a new dubstep joint on the way home over the car stereo! I'll be working on it soon and hook y'all up, don't worry ;)

That was pretty much the trip for the most part, I feel that pictures speak better than words so head over the to media page or my facebook and check them out!

For now, it's back to the studio and get Mashup MIXtape PT.4 out ASAP!!!
